3.6. Access Denied error?

I get an error when trying to install or use EstiMate that says an error has occured error code 5 access is denied. . .what do I do?

An access denied error means that the datafolder and or EstiMate directory is currently in use. (Or that windows thinks they are in use). Make sure all copies of EstiMate are closed and try installing or using the software again.

If the problem persists, then close EstiMate, save changes and close any other programs that may be running and restart your computer.

After the computer has been restarted try installing or using EstiMate again. The problem should be resolved and you should be able to proceed as normal.

NOTE: For networked customers who are on a domain you may need to alter the path to the data in EstiMate to use the IP address instead of the computer name.

Example:

\\ComputerName\Data = non-domain path.

\\216.101.185.148\Data = domain path.

This is only an example, your actual IP will be different.
