3.17. Borland $3E06 error when trying to open EstiMate?

When I try to open EstiMate I get an error stating Borland $3E06 and the software will not open. What does this error mean and how can I get my software operational?

The error message means that a necessary language driver is not installed or the registry is misconfigured.

Check the registry by doing the following:

1. Click Start > Run > Type the word "regedit" (without the quotes) > Press Ok.

2. In the registry navigate to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Borland\Database Engine\Settings\System\INIT\LANGDRIVER.

3. Double-Click on the LANGDRIVER entry and examine the value data field. Customers in the United States should have a value of DBWINUS0 but if you have other text in the field like ASCII for example then erase it and input DBWINUS0 in its place.

Press OK to save the setting.

4. Close the registry editor.

If you have completed these steps above and the software is still not operational then you may have a missing driver. Contact technical support for additional information in this case.

I was doing an estimate a couple of weeks ago, and had already figured in my head about what the price should be. I knew that a competitor had bid on this job, and the customer had always been ours. I showed him the full itemized estimate, and now he is confident about our price AND our PROFESSIONALISM!
