3.84. File name is too long for a paradox ver. 5.0 table?

I get an error that says File name is too long for a paradox ver. 5.0 table salespeople.db. What do I do to get my program working correctly again?

Try a shorter path to the data. The default path is C:\Program Files\EstiMate\Data. If the path in your network setup is too long you may try copying EstiMate's data files to a different location that results in a shorter pathname. Then pointing EstiMate to the new location via File > Network Setup.

It should be noted that even though the error seems to be pointing to the salespeople.db name it is really seeing the whole path to the data plus the salespeople.db name as the file name and not just salespeople.db.

An example of a filename that would be considered too long is:

C:\Documents and Settings\User 123\My Documents\Estimate Data\Data\

Even shortening the name slightly solves the problem as shown below:

C:\Documents and Settings\User 123\My Documents\Estimate Data\
