3.137. Unable to import contacts from QuickBooks basic?

I try to import my contacts from QuickBooks Basic and get an error that says QuickBooks must be running on this computer, but QB is running! What do I need to do to import my contacts from QB into EstiMate?

Quickbooks basic does not have the protocols necessary to interface with 3rd party programs like EstiMate. EstiMate works with PRO, Premier, and Enterprise editions of QuickBooks 2000 and above.

However, it is still possible to import your contacts.

1. In QuickBooks export your customer list. In some versions of QB this is done by clicking file > export in other versions it may be File > Utilities > export.

2. In EstiMate click Management > QuickBooks link > Import contacts from EstiMate Pre-2002. Select the file you exported from QB and open it. EstiMate will import the records.
