HomeEstiMate Version 1How Do I...Can I create estimate templates?

4.5. Can I create estimate templates?

How can I create re-useable templates of common signs (such as a 4x8 or an 18x24 aluminum sign) that I can call up quickly and not have to re-figure the price every time?

Here is the step-by-step method for achieving this:

1. Create an estimate with the line item(s) you want on it representing the signs or processes you want to repeat over and over again.
2. Assign it to a customer named '1-Templates' and save it with a description that you will immediately recognize, such as '18x24 Aluminum Sign.'
3. Close the estimate.
4. Click Archives->Expire/Archive old estimates.
5. Check 'show all estimates regardless of date' and make sure to check the estimate you just created.
6. Click 'Send to Archives.'
7. Click the OK button.
8. Click Archives->Archive Explorer.
9. In the archives, you will find a customer called '1-Templates' (the "1-" before the name is so the record will sort to the top of the list) and under this customer will be the sign you just archived. Highlight the sign estimate and click 'New estimate' to create a new estimate based on the old one. Repeat as necessary.
