Creating a Composite Substrate in EstiMate
This example covers combining High Density Sign Foam with inlaid Alumacorr into one composite substrate.
1. Price one 12'x12' piece of sign foam in the vinyl signs section of EstiMate, make sure your artwork complexity slider is at zero and that NO vinyl coverage is selected since we are only pricing the substrate at this time.
2. Click the Calculate Total button and then Double-click on the subtotal to view your hard numbers; make a careful note of the expense total.
3. From the Vinyl Signs screen select Alumacorr from the substrate menu. Again, enter 12'x12' for your height and width dimensions and make sure your artwork complexity slider is at zero and that NO vinyl coverage is selected.
4. Click calculate total and then double-click on the subtotal field to get your hard numbers. Make a note of the expense total.
5. Access the ingredients database by clicking Edit Data Files > Ingredients > Substrates. Click the new button and title the new entry 'Sign Foam w/ inlaid Alumacorr' or something of the sort. Place 12'x12' in your height and width dimensions.
6. Click on the calculator icon and add the figure from your expense columns for both the Alumacorr and the Sign Foam. You may wish to add a little extra for labor and to cover your glue. Place the resultant figure in the cost field and enter your desired markup.
7. Click the green OK checkmark twice to save the entry and exit the ingredients database.
8. Create a new estimate or job, click add item > Vinyl Signs and select your new composite substrate from the substrate list. Continue pricing as normal. You have successfully created a composite substrate and added it to your quote.
