I am lettering metal plates for office doors in a large office complex. The metal plates are a specialty order that we are unlikely to use again, so I do not want them in my substrate database. How do I enter the substrates on my quote without actually entering them into the substrate list as separate items?

If the metal substrates are going to be a one time usage then list them in free-form. Create a substrate with no value into the substrate database. Create a vinyl signs quote with the no value substrate selected and then choose your vinyl and place the coverage at 100%.

In this way you have priced your substrate and your vinyl.
