EstiMate Support Bulletin

This support bulletin is directed towards users of EstiMate who are using the export transactions to QuickBooks feature of the software. If you are an EstiMate user who is not using the Export Transactions to QuickBooks feature you may disregard this notice.

This bulletin will address the export of jobs from EstiMate and their subsequent import into QuickBooks.

Topic 1.1 Conflicting Numbering Systems

It has come to our attention that there are conflicts in numbering sequences between internal QuickBooks numbering systems and the job numbers EstiMate exports. After a user Exports their jobs from EstiMate and then try to use QuickBooks again for internal billing purposes the next invoice the customer creates starts with the next number in the EstiMate sequence rather than the customers own internal numbering they previously setup in QuickBooks.

Solution:

1. Before importing in QuickBooks make a note of the next invoice number in the sequence.
2. In EstiMate run the export transactions to QuickBooks function and export the job(s).
3. In QuickBooks import the transactions from EstiMate and individually re-number them beginning with the invoice number you notated in step 1.
4. This will allow you to keep your own internal numbering system. To avoid tedium batch your jobs to be exported at the end of the day for example so the re-numbering can be done all at once.

This is a limitation in QuickBooks.
