5.1. Bulletin: Cannot load TePluginConfigurations error

EstiMate generates an error message "Cannot load TePluginConfigurations" or variants like "error retrieving object Tepluginconfigurations[]" and may also be accompanied by "table does not exist"; "index does not exist"; "cannot perform this operation on a closed data set".

Support Bulletin

It has come to our attention that some users experience an error that interferes with the operability of the program the error message comes up after upgrading the software and opening the program. The error "Cannot load TePluginConfigurations" may also be accompanied by "table does not exist"; "index does not exist"; "cannot perform this operation on a closed data set".

The solution to this error is as follows:

1. Shut down EstiMate

2. Open Windows Explorer, browse the EstiMate directory and open the data folder. NOTE: By default the data folder is located in C:\Program Files\EstiMate, however if you have moved the data file to a network drive or elsewhere on the computer or a remote host then you will need to seek out the data folder in that location.

3. Delete the following files:
ePC.zip (if available)
ePluginconfigurations.db
ePluginconfigurations.mb
ePluginconfigurations.px
ePluginconfigurations.val

3. Close Windows Explorer and Restart EstiMate
4. You will need to Re-configure the settings for the various plugins, including market level, background paint transfer tape and other criteria. These can be accessed by clicking the plugin icon on the pricing screen itself.

Q & A

I am running a version previous to 1.94 does this affect me?

Answer: No.

Does everyone who is running EstiMate 1.94 and later experience this phenomena?

Answer: No. It seems to be a random occurance.

Is there a shortcut to this process?

Answer: Yes. After deleting the aforementioned files, if you backed up your data before upgrading you can restore it, close the program and re-open it. EstiMate will automatically re-generate the files and the problem wil be resolved. CAUTION: Restoring the data will overrite any existing data.
