2.16. My hourly rate is too high what should I do?

My hourly rate that EstiMate calculates in the overhead worksheet seems too high how can I get it down to a more realistic level?

Make sure to pay close attention to the 'hours of operation' field in the overhead worksheet. Make sure to put in the field the billable hours in a day for *all employees* in your shop who are doing billable work. If the hours of operation field is only set for one person and the rest of the overhead worksheet is filled out for all the employees then the program may calculate the hourly rate too high.

In addition, keep in mind that the fields on the overhead worksheet are for monthly expenses. If you enter yearly figures in these fields it will make the hourly rate calculation abnormally high.
