In EstiMate 2011 any logged in user can keep an actual time sheet for a job!
We’ve added a new Job Timer screen that brings up the list of active jobs in EstiMate and presents the opportunity to track actual time worked on the job. This time can then be checked against the expected times on the work order and allows you to see how well times are being estimated in your shop.
This is a long-awaited feature, and it’s now yours!
First, Select A Job
The first step is to press the job timer button on the EstiMate 2011 toolbar (pictured above). Once you’ve pressed this button, the job timer screen appears with a list of all the active jobs in your EstiMate system. Archived jobs are not presented in this list.
These jobs will pop up sorted by due date, but as usual the column headers are all clickable and sortable.
You can find any job in the system that you are ready to work on, and then click “Start Work” to get started working!
Second, Get To Work!
Once you’ve clicked “Start Work” the timer starts, with a description field for you to enter a note about the work you are doing.
A very exciting point here is that the job timer tracks who is doing the work – by username – and as a result you can see who is doing what, when, on what job.
The timer shows the basic info about the customer, due date, and job description right up top so you can always see what job you are working on – and when you are done your description will be stored for anyone else in the shop to see.
This way you can keep track of all work intervals attributed to any job.
A Complete Time Sheet
The intervals recorded against a job in the shop will be stored along with the job’s record, and are presented on the job’s time sheet.
Each interval shows who did the work, how long it lasted, and what they did (notes are required, so you can see what’s actually been done).
Each time interval can be edited or deleted, and new intervals can be manually added.
The total elapsed time for the job is recorded at the bottom of the time sheet and can be checked against the expected times on the job work order.

Hi there, calling from Oz here… love the old program but am keen to see the system running. Job Time Sheets sounds like an excellent tool. My question is can multiple people be logged on to the job at the same time?
Hi Ilona,
Yes, any number of users can be logged into a job at the same time. Thanks for writing!
